A really important funeral which must have taken a lot of time counting was at that of the celebrated and illustrious, God appointed president, our cherished and most beloved Joseph Franklin Rutherford. There were four at his funeral not counting the corpse. -

New Watchtower Propaganda and hate speech destroying families (Feb 2016 WT)
by Daniel1555 inthe following is a paragraph from the new february study watchtower article "learn from jehovah's loyal servants.".
7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne [1] received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.

Dunedain, I agree with what you say; the GB are desperate, their deceptions are unravelling under the spotlight of the information revolution. They are bleeding money and members.
Their response measures are aimed at retaining as many members they can by praising their loyalty to Jehovah. This particular deception is interesting because what they actually mean when they threaten "Stay with Jehovah" is obey us and remain a blind slave under the governing body's total control. "Jehovah" has been promoted insidiously to become a cypher for the GB in the minds of the flock.

Faith in the Flood,-- a Dud.

I'm glad they are looking at the Biblical flood because if there is one obviously crass fairy tale in the Bible it is this one. There is no physical evidence for it and it could not have happened!
To believe this myth in today's more enlightened world makes the Bible believer look like a real twit.
They should be waking up in their droves when they think about this subject.

Sam, welcome to the site. What a fix you were in! I'm glad you are seeing the reality of the Watchtower organisation that is only interested in its own survival and that its teachings are false.
You can now breathe freely and begin to live like a natural human being!

Mid - Week Meeting This Week
by xjwsrock inmillie210 posted this on another thread - i thought it deserved it's own op:.
i took an elderly friend to the meeting last night.
the study is in the "imitate their faith" book which is merely a compilation of previous short stories about bible characters that were featured in a series of watchtower articles.. they waste no time beginning their spinning and supposition with the cain/abel story.

I like the sound of all this.
The flame has gone out at HQ. No money in the bank therefore no holy spirit! No sparkle in the writing, just the same old tired re-heated and stale food from yesterday.
Keep it up Watchtower!

Just to add to make my last comment relevant...and therefore we don't need to invoke a magical sky god to account for our being alive. -

Lisa Rose, with the twenty first century understanding of the whole DNA coding within the human genome, it is recognised that we share about 50% of our genes... the bits which determine what living things are ...with herbaceous plants such as bananas, delphiniums and strawberries. (That’s why I use the name Half banana)
What it tells us is that each animal, plant, fish or fungus is not a distinct creation but are variations on a slowly unravelling line of inheritance, a part of a continuum. The degree of difference between species determines their closeness or distance of relatedness. So the strawberry for example shares the same family traits as the rose but is not so closely related to the delphinium so they have different ‘recent’ ancestors. Apes share something like 96 to 98.5% of their genes with humans. The pattern is compared to a family tree or pedigree with new families branching off at intervals over time.
Perhaps surprisingly, most family lines that have ever existed have died off and become extinct leaving only those alive today most suited to their environments. These developments having taken place over literally millions of years. Life in all its many forms has proved to be a death and destruction derby where only the winners get to breed.
In essence the fact that we share 50% of our genes with bananas and strawberries means that Darwin’s idea that life has evolved; is the truthful account of the reason for our existence.

Yes Blondie the subject is the WTS viewpoint but I think a dose of reality contrasts nicely with their mumbo jumbo. -

Are JWs losing the war on apostates?
It really does seem that in the internet battle, the apostate position is gaining more and more ground.
Do you think that the end JW org influence will be achieved only through the net?
